Train company Thalys is running a direct ski service from Belgian capital Brussels to leading French ski resorts from December 21st, 2019 to April 11, 2020.
Services will travel from Antwerp and Brussels to Chambéry, Albertville, Moûtiers, Aime la Plagne, Landry and Bourg-Saint-Maurice providing access to some oif the world’s leading ski areas including Les 3 Vallées, Tignes and Paradiski.
The train operator says rail travel is also the more environmentally friendly option, claiming it is ten times less polluting than travel by conventional car.
The company will provide a special on-train “Ski host” service with agents in red uniforms helping skiers and boarders rent their ski equipment in the train, and then unload it to transfer services on arrival.
Fares start from €55 for a one-way ticket with ‘premium fares’ starting at €129 each way.
