Lift operators at the popular French resort are offering discounts to carpoolers

Chamonix’s lift operators, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, is seeking to encourage car sharing by offering a 5% discount on Chamonix Le Pass lift tickets (1-21 days) to those who arrive in a shared car.

The system operates via the http://www.blablacar.fr website, on which a car driver registers their trip to the resort and then one or more passengers book spaces in the car and pay online.

Everyone gets an email confirmation, then when they all arrive at the slopes, they can show their Blablacar email confirmation to the Montenvers cash desk (35, Place de la Mer de Glace) to pick up their discounted pass. Simple.
