The Italian ski resort of Courmayeur has announced it is studying three years of data as it looks for ways to “Save The Glacier” on Mont Blanc.
The resort’s spectacular €100m+ Skyway Monte Bianco Experience, which lifts skiers and tourists to 3,446m up on the Italian side of Mont Blanc has been operating for three years now and has announced a new environmentally sustainable research project with the aim of helping preserve the fast-thawing Mont Blanc glacier.
The Skyway’s ‘Save the Glacier’ project will study their operating data from the past three years then undertake concrete action in the form of using only green-certified supplies, reducing waste volume, sourcing eco energy, reducing emissions, conserving water and eventually creating a green consortium, the company says.
